Vessel carrying 35,000 tonnes of diesel from Oman arrives at Ctg Port

A Liberia-flagged vessel, Golden Horizon, carrying 35,000 tonnes of diesel from Oman has arrived at the outer anchorage of Port of Chittagong today.

According to Pride Shipping Lines’ managing partner Nazrul Islam, two more vessels carrying a combined 66,000 tonnes of diesel are also scheduled to arrive later in the day. Among them, the Liberia-flagged FPMC 30 is expected to bring 33,000 tonnes of diesel from Malaysia, while Pacific Indigo will carry another 33,000 tonnes from India.

Authorities are prioritising the quick unloading of fuel shipments amid ongoing supply shortages. Preparations, including lighter vessels, have already been arranged to ensure rapid discharge once ships berth.

Nazrul said that four vessels carrying around 136,000 tonnes of fuel had arrived on April 17, with unloading still underway. In addition, three more vessels carrying about 101,000 tonnes are expected today.

He also noted that within the next three days, two more vessels carrying 33,000 tonnes of diesel and 34,600 tonnes of jet fuel are likely to arrive, further boosting the country’s fuel supply.
