US prepares for possible strike on Iran

As President Donald Trump keeps the world guessing about potential US military intervention in Israel’s ongoing attacks against Iran, new reports indicate that preparations are underway in the US capital for such action.

Al Jazeera reported quoting Bloomberg News anonymous senior US officials told the news agency that they are “preparing for the possibility of a strike on Iran in the coming days.”

The report suggests that this development signals Washington “is assembling the infrastructure to directly enter a conflict with Tehran.”

The sources emphasised that the situation remains fluid and could change, with some indicating potential plans for a weekend strike.

“Top leaders at a handful of federal agencies have also begun getting ready for an attack, one person said,” Bloomberg added, though no further details were provided.

The news comes amid heightened tensions in the Middle East, with Israel and Iran exchanging strikes for several days.

President Trump has remained noncommittal about US involvement, stating to reporters, “I may do it. I may not do it. I mean, nobody knows what I’m going to do.”

As the situation develops, European diplomats are set to meet with Iranian officials in Geneva on Friday to push for de-escalation, while Iran’s Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi has reiterated Tehran’s commitment to diplomacy, denying any pursuit of nuclear weapons.
