Trump rules out Tomahawk missile deal for Ukraine, for now

US President Donald Trump said Sunday that he is not currently considering any plan to supply Ukraine with long-range Tomahawk missiles but indicated that his stance could change in the future.

Speaking to reporters aboard Air Force One on his return flight to Washington from Palm Beach, Florida, Trump dismissed reports that the United States might sell Tomahawk missiles to NATO allies for potential transfer to Ukraine. “No, not really,” he said when asked if such a deal was being discussed.

The president, however, noted that his position “could shift,” suggesting he was keeping options open depending on future developments.

Trump has consistently voiced caution about actions that could escalate the conflict with Russia, and his latest remarks reinforced his reluctance to authorize any move that might signal deeper US involvement in the war.

He and NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte discussed the Tomahawk issue during a White House meeting on October 22. Rutte said Friday that the proposal remained “under review,” though the ultimate decision would be made by Washington.
