Musk slams senate bill as job-killer, threat to US innovation

US Billionaire entrepreneur Elon Musk has sharply criticized the latest version of a tax and spending bill released by the U.S. Senate, calling the proposal “utterly insane and destructive.” The Tesla and SpaceX CEO warned that the legislation could deal a severe blow to the U.S. economy and its long-term competitiveness.
In a post on X (formerly Twitter), Musk claimed the bill “will destroy millions of jobs in America and cause immense strategic harm to our country.”
He argued the legislation favors outdated industries through government subsidies while undermining emerging sectors. “It gives handouts to industries of the past while severely damaging industries of the future,” Musk added.
The criticism comes just weeks after Musk ended a public feud related to opposition from tech leaders, including Meta CEO Mark Zuckerberg, over the bill’s provisions.
