Kuwaiti oil tanker hit by drone off Dubai coast
A Kuwaiti oil tanker was struck by a drone near Dubai, prompting emergency response efforts from local authorities. Officials in Dubai said the fire onboard the vessel was successfully extinguished and confirmed that all 24 crew members were safe with no reported injuries.
Kuwait Petroleum Corporation stated that the crude carrier Al-Salmi was targeted while anchored off the coast, raising concerns about a potential oil spill as the tanker was fully loaded at the time of the attack.
According to the UK Maritime Trade Operations, the vessel was hit about 31 nautical miles northwest of Dubai. Authorities are continuing to assess the extent of the damage and monitor the situation.
