Dhaka International Trade Fair to open January 1, 2026
The month-long Dhaka International Trade Fair (DITF) will begin on January 1, 2026, featuring a wide range of local and international exhibitors. The 30th edition of the fair will be inaugurated by Chief Adviser Muhammad Yunus at the Bangladesh-China Friendship Exhibition Centre in Purbachal.
The fair is being jointly organised by the commerce ministry and the Export Promotion Bureau (EPB). Commerce Secretary Mahbubur Rahman said 324 pavilions, stalls and restaurants have been allocated transparently to local producers, exporters, general businesses and foreign companies.
Visitors will be able to explore products such as textiles, machinery, carpets, cosmetics, electrical and electronic goods, furniture, jute and jute products, household items, and leather and artificial leather goods, including footwear.
This year, the use of polythene bags and single-use plastics has been banned. Environment-friendly shopping bags will be provided at subsidised rates through the Ministry of Textiles and Jute.
Alongside Bangladeshi businesses, 11 companies from six countries—India, Turkey, Singapore, Indonesia, Hong Kong and Malaysia—are participating. Entry tickets will be priced at Tk 50.
To improve access to the venue, around 200 buses will operate during the fair, while ride-sharing services will offer special discounted fares. Organisers said the number of stalls was reduced to improve visitor movement and overall organisation, while higher bidding prices are expected to generate increased revenue for the EPB.
The Dhaka International Trade Fair has been held annually since 1995 to promote domestic products, boost industrial production and support employment generation.
