Bangladesh's share of EU apparel market climbs to 21.57%
Bangladesh’s share in the European Union’s apparel market rose to 21.57 percent in 2025, up from 20.78 percent a year earlier, reflecting stronger demand for garments produced in the country.
According to data from Eurostat, Bangladesh maintained its position as the second-largest clothing supplier to the EU. Garment exports to the bloc reached 19.41 billion euros in 2025, compared with 18.31 billion euros in 2024.
China remained the leading exporter to the EU apparel market, securing a 29.54 percent share by shipping garments worth 26.58 billion euros during the year. Overall, the EU imported clothing items valued at 89.99 billion euros in 2025.
Turkey ranked as the third-largest garment exporter to the EU, followed by India in fourth place.
The latest figures underline Bangladesh’s growing presence in one of its most important export destinations, as the country continues to strengthen its position in the global ready-made garment sector.
