Expatriates send $1.99bn in remittances in 1st 21 days of June

Bangladeshi expatriates sent approximately $1.99 billion in remittances during the first 21 days of June 2025, according to data released by Bangladesh Bank on Monday.
In total, remittances for the current fiscal year (July 2024 to June 21, 2025) have reached $29.50 billion, marking a significant increase of 26.7% compared to the same period last year, when the figure stood at $23.29 billion.
The $6.21 billion year-on-year rise reflects stronger inflows from overseas Bangladeshis, providing a much-needed boost to the country’s foreign currency reserves and economic stability.
