Canada announces $2.5bn economic aid package for Ukraine
Canadian Prime Minister Mark Carney on Saturday announced an additional $2.5 billion in economic assistance for Ukraine, reinforcing Ottawa’s support as the country continues to face economic pressures from the ongoing conflict.
Speaking alongside Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskiy, Carney said the funding would help Ukraine unlock further financing from the International Monetary Fund (IMF). Zelenskiy also briefly addressed reporters during the appearance, welcoming Canada’s continued backing.
