Nadal beats Djokovic to win 13th French Open
Rafael Nadal produced one of his finest French Open displays to stun Novak Djokovic and equal Roger Federer's record of 20 Grand Slam men's titles. Spanish second seed Nadal outclassed world number one Djokovic in a 6-0 6-2 7-5 win_ which clinched a record-extending 13th title at Roland Garros. Federer_ who sat out the tournament to recover from knee surgery_ hailed Nadal s 13th French Open victory as  one of sport s greatest achievements .  I have always had the utmost respect for my friend Rafa as a person and a champion_ Federer tweeted on Sunday.  As my greatest rival over many years_ I believe we have pushed each other to become better players. Therefore it is a true honour for me to congratulate him on his 20th Grand Slam victory_ Federer wrote.  It is especially amazing that he has won Roland Garros an incredible 13 times which is one of the greatest achievements in sport. I hope the 20 is just another step on the continuing journey for both of us_ the Swiss player added. He claimed his 100th match win at Roland Garros against just two defeats since his 2005 debut. The 56th meeting between the world s top two started under the roof of Court Philippe Chatrier_ intensifying the echo of a crowd limited to 1_000 due to the coronavirus pandemic.
